Regular Shilajit vs. Gold-Graded Shilajit: Understanding the Key Differences

Introduction to Shilajit

For decades, Shilajit, a substance like sticky resin, has been an essential component of traditional Ayurvedic therapy. This potent natural supplement is mostly found in the Himalayas and is well-known for its restorative qualities. The strongest variety of Shilajit, called Gold-graded Shilajit, comes from the Himalayan mountain tops, typically above 16k to 18k altitude. Pakistan being a significant source of high-quality deposits.

How do you define Shilajit?

A naturally occurring chemical called shilajit emanates from the rocks in high mountain ranges. This powerful compound is the result of centuries of microbes slowly breaking down plants. Shilajit has several health advantages since it contains a lot of minerals, humic compounds, and fulvic acid. It is utilised to strengthen cognitive function, increase vitality, and advance general wellbeing.

Characteristics of Regular Shilajit

  • Color and Texture: Regular Shilajit typically appears as a dark, tar-like substance. Its texture can vary from sticky to brittle depending on environmental conditions.
  • Taste and Aroma: Regular Shilajit has a earthy taste and a strong, pungent aroma.
  • Solubility: It dissolves well in warm liquids, making it easy to consume in teas or milk.
  • Potency: Contains a diverse array of minerals, fulvic acid, and other active compounds that provide its health benefits.

Gold-Graded Shilajit: What Is It?

Gold-graded Shilajit is regarded as the highest quality kind of Shilajit. Because it comes from higher elevations, there is less pollution and a greater concentration of active chemicals. It is characterized by its dark, glossy brown appearance and smooth texture. This variant undergoes rigorous testing to ensure its purity and potency. There is still no guarantee that you will find Gold-Graded Shilajit at the peak of the Himalayas. The quality largely depends on the rocks themselves, which tell you everything about the deposit. Typically, the best rocks are selected from the entire deposit. This selection process is quite random; some rocks are exceptionally good, meeting the Gold-graded criteria, while others are more standard. The grading process determines which ones qualify as Gold-graded Shilajit.

Characteristics of Gold-Graded Shilajit

  • Color and Texture: Dark and glossy brown, with a smooth consistency. In summer, the texture becomes a bit gold with a browny hue, while in winter, it resembles honey resin. The texture is always weather-dependent.
  • Taste and Aroma: Milder earthy taste with a subtle aroma, less pungent than regular Shilajit. Moreover, when it is sun-dried, the smell becomes less strong than regular shilajit but with preservation of properties of natural ingredients as natural.
  • Solubility: Dissolves smoothly in lukewarm water or milk, without any graininess.
  • Potency: Higher concentration of fulvic acid and essential minerals, making it more potent and effective.

Weather-Dependent Texture of Shilajit

The texture of both Shilajit and Gold-graded Shilajit can vary based on weather conditions. During warmer months, Shilajit can become more pliable and sticky, while in colder climates, it can harden and become brittle. This natural variance is a testament to its purity and organic nature, ensuring that the substance is not mixed with artificial additives.

Hi,
Came across your website and your Shilajit seems to be the real deal as I was offered lower quality 2 times. My only concern is that coming from the USA,IIt will cost me a fortune considering the currency exchange CAD to USD,shipping, duty and brokerage fees. Last time I shipped from the USA,UPS really charged high fees, so I never accepted the product as it was costing me the double.
Would you by any chance have a store here in Canada?
